Lead Educational Developer, Digital Pedagogies at McMaster University

Joanne Kehoe's work experience includes a range of roles in the field of education. Joanne began their career as a Program Manager at McMaster University, where they managed continuing education certificate/diploma programs and conducted market research activities. Joanne then transitioned to the role of Academic Advisor before becoming a Research Coordinator, where they managed a federally-funded online training program and developed skills in instructional design and project management. Joanne later served as an Instructional Designer, contributing to curriculum development and online learning technologies. Joanne then took on the role of Associate Director, Educational Technologies on an interim basis, providing leadership in technology-enhanced teaching and learning at McMaster. In their most recent position at McMaster, Joanne served as the Lead Educational Developer, Digital Pedagogies. Joanne also worked at eCampusOntario as a Program Manager, focusing on online education advancement and support for learners and educators in Ontario. Currently, they hold a part-time associate professor role at Lambton College.

Joanne Kehoe holds a Master of Education (M.Ed) degree in Higher Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto, which they obtained from 2009 to 2013. Joanne also has a Diploma in Public Relations & Corporate Communications from Fanshawe College, completed in 1997-1998. Joanne's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communications from Wilfrid Laurier University, which they completed from 1992 to 1996. In terms of additional certifications, Joanne has obtained the MCYU FACILITAR certification from McMaster University in 2019. Joanne has also completed the Facilitator Development Workshop and the Instructional Skills Workshop through the Instructional Skills Workshop Network. Furthermore, Joanne has acquired a Mastery Certificate in Blended Course Design from the Online Learning Consortium.
