Justin Whiteley

Justin Whiteley's work experience includes positions at various companies.

From January 2016 to the present, they served as the CTO and co-founder of Meati Foods, a company focused on producing sustainable protein. Justin also held the role of CSO & Co-founder at Meati Foods starting in November 2019.

From June 2018 to November 2019, Justin was the CTO and co-founder of BTRFY Foods.

Prior to these entrepreneurial endeavors, Justin worked as a research associate at the University of Colorado Boulder from September 2016 to December 2016. Justin also served as a graduate research assistant from June 2012 to August 2016 and as a graduate teaching assistant from August 2012 to December 2012.

Before joining the University of Colorado Boulder, they worked as an associate engineer/assistant project manager at Pacific Gas and Electric Company from March 2011 to May 2012. Justin also had a role as an engineer III at Enercon Services from June 2010 to March 2011.

Justin's work experience also includes a project engineer intern position at Kitchell in 2009 and a drafter role at Bill Gould Design from July 2005 to August 2007.

Justin Whiteley obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical & Nuclear Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 2010. Justin then went on to pursue a Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, completing their PhD in 2016. Additionally, Justin holds a certification as an Engineer-in-Training from the Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.
