Scott Cormier

Scott Cormier has a strong background in emergency management, safety, and healthcare leadership. Scott is currently serving as the Vice President for Emergency Management, Environment of Care, and Safety at Medxcel Facilities Management, where they oversee the implementation of emergency management, safety, security, and accident-prevention programs across a large healthcare system.

Prior to their current role, Scott held various positions in different organizations. Scott served as an Adjunct Instructor at Louisiana State University, where they taught courses on Weapons of Mass Destruction and healthcare leadership. Scott also worked as the Senior Director for Emergency Preparedness and Management at HCA, where they were responsible for planning and response efforts for a global healthcare provider. Scott was involved in leading response efforts during hurricanes Gustav and Ike, including the successful evacuation of hospitals and patients.

Scott'swork experience also includes being a Technical Specialist at Signature Science, LLC, providing expertise in detection, field analysis, and personal protective equipment for Weapons of Mass Destruction. Additionally, Scott served as a Senior Medical Officer on a Naval Special Warfare Research Vessel, ensuring the health and safety of the crew.

Earlier in their career, Scott held roles such as EMS Project Manager at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, where they implemented a program utilizing paramedics in the emergency department, and Project Manager for Prehospital and Disaster Services at HCA, where they coordinated EMS and Fire Department outreach programs.

Scott's career began as a Paramedic/Master SCUBA Diver for the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, where they provided life support and rescue services, and served on the Hazardous Materials and River Rescue teams.

Scott also has obtained several certifications, including being a Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional from the International Board for Certification of Safety Managers in September 2013, being a US Army Human Intelligence Collector from the US Army in November 2004, being an EMT-Paramedic certified by the National Registry, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Tennessee in April 1984, and being a Military Police and Corrections Specialist from the United States Marine Corps in September 1982.
