Eldon Chou

Eldon Chou has a diverse work experience in the field of biology. Eldon is currently working as the Director of Biology at Mekonos Inc. starting from July 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Principal Scientist at NAVAN Technologies, Inc. from May 2021 to July 2022 and at 64x Bio from October 2020 to May 2021.

Before that, Eldon worked at Synthego Corporation as a Development Scientist from September 2019 to October 2020. At Synthego, they provided expertise in biological and gene editing to develop an industrial scale gene edited cell products platform. Eldon also played a significant role in scaling and launching high throughput gene edited induced pluripotent stem cell products.

Earlier in their career, Eldon worked at Horizon Discovery as an R&D Scientist, where they proposed, developed, and launched new products related to genome engineering and gene modulation technologies. Eldon held various roles within the company, including R&D Scientist 2, R&D Scientist 1, and R&D Associate Scientist 2.

Prior to their time at Horizon Discovery, Eldon worked at GE Healthcare as an R&D Associate Scientist II, specializing in the development and product launch of CRISPR-Cas9 and homology directed repair donor templates.

Eldon's work experience also includes their time as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Colorado Boulder, where they studied primary tenocyte cells and developed novel biomaterials. Eldon also served as a Teaching Assistant for instrumental analysis, guiding students in analytical chemistry projects and usage of analytical instrumentation.

Furthermore, Eldon worked as a Student Research Assistant at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, optimizing the expression of membrane proteins and conducting bacterial growth studies. Eldon also gained research experience as an Undergraduate Researcher at UC Berkeley, where they utilized molecular cloning and conducted fluorescence studies on fusion proteins.

Eldon Chou pursued their education starting from 2007 at the University of California, Berkeley. Eldon obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemical Biology after completing their studies in 2010. Subsequently, Eldon Chou continued their academic journey and enrolled at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2011. There, they accomplished their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Chemistry & Biochemistry, which they successfully completed in 2014.
