Shannon Thomason

Vice President at Mental Health Systems

Shannon Thomason, LCSW, SUDCC IV, has a strong background in the field of mental health and substance abuse treatment. Shannon began their career at Mental Health Systems in 2008 as a Social Work Intern and quickly progressed to the role of Lead Generalist. In this position, they gained valuable experience and skills in providing comprehensive mental health support. Shannon then took on the role of Laura's Law Care Coordinator, where they focused on coordinating and managing care for clients under Laura's Law. Shannon later became the Laura's Law Lead Clinician, taking on a leadership role within the program. In 2019, Shannon was promoted to Program Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the program. Most recently, they have been appointed as Vice President of Mental Health Systems, a testament to their expertise and dedication in the field. In addition to their work at Mental Health Systems, Shannon also worked as a Mental Health Worker at McAlister Institute for Treatment & Education, Inc. from 2014 to 2015. Overall, Shannon Thomason brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to providing high-quality mental health and substance abuse services.

Shannon Thomason obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University San Marcos in 2007. In 2012, Shannon received a certification in Addiction Studies from Breining Institute. Shannon then pursued a Master of Social Work degree from Boston University School of Social Work, which was completed in 2015.
