Shiro Tsubota

Shiro Tsubota is an accomplished finance professional currently serving as the Representative Director at Mercer since June 2025. Previously, Shiro held the position of President & Representative Director for Japan at Robeco from July 2017 to December 2024. Shiro's extensive experience includes serving as CEO Japan at Henderson Global Investors from October 2012 to June 2017, and as Senior Vice President at PIMCO from February 2005 to September 2012. Earlier in Shiro's career, positions included Vice President at Deutsche Asset Management from April 2003 to January 2005 and Vice President at Goldman Sachs from July 1997 to March 2003. Shiro Tsubota holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in International Relations and Affairs from Keio University, where education was completed from 1982 to 1986, and attended the American School of Paris from 1979 to 1981.
