Jessica Cherepski

Senior Vice President, GSE Chief Underwriter at Merchants Capital

Ms. Cherepski joined the company in 2016 and has been in the industry since 2008. In her current role as Senior Vice President, GSE Chief Underwriter, Ms. Cherepski is responsible for overseeing all credit-related functions for the company’s growing $1B GSE platform. Additionally, she identifies new business opportunities to further grow Merchants Capital’s national affordable lending platform. She works directly with the Executive Team to implement new business initiatives and conduct large-scale credit, operational, and enterprise risk assessments. Ms. Cherepski is also responsible for cross-platform growth initiatives, enhancing the existing credit policy with respect to agency guidelines, and implementing innovative techniques for highly structured transactions.

Prior to joining Merchants Capital, Ms. Cherepski served as the Assistant Vice President and Manager of Freddie Mac Lending for The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC). She was responsible for leading CPC’s efforts on the Freddie Mac Optigo conventional product line. Ms. Cherepski graduated with her Master of Science degree in Real Estate from the Zicklin School of Business and her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and International Business from Villanova University. She is an active member of Women in Housing and Finance – New York.
