Ben Walden

Ben Walden has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Their most recent role is as the Chief Actuary for Merchants Insurance Group, where they focus on pricing, reserving, data reporting, and analytics. Prior to that, they founded and served as the President of Zinsurance.

From 2013 to 2020, Ben held various executive positions at Kingstone Insurance Company, including EVP and Chief Actuary. In these roles, they managed actuarial, underwriting, IT, product management, data reporting, and analytical functions. Ben also served on the Board of Directors.

Before their time at Kingstone Insurance, Ben worked as the Chief Actuary at Interboro Insurance Company, where they managed actuarial and financial reporting functions. Ben played a key role in the successful acquisition of the AutoOne Insurance companies.

Earlier in their career, Ben worked as an Actuarial Consultant at Milliman and as the Lead Actuary and Actuarial Associate at Robert Plan. Ben began their career as an Actuarial Analyst at CIGNA.

Ben Walden attended Villanova University from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. In 1999, they achieved the title of Fellow in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), which was awarded by the Casualty Actuarial Society. Additionally, Ben Walden obtained a P&C Licensed Insurance Agent certification from the New York State Department of Financial Services.
