Erica Walsh-Michel is an accomplished biochemist with extensive experience in cancer research and drug development. Currently serving as an Associate Principal Scientist at Merck since September 2017, Erica previously held positions at Sanofi Genzyme as a Scientist and at Brigham and Women's Hospital as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Notable achievements include the discovery of the NSD3-NUT fusion oncoprotein in NUT Midline Carcinoma and the development of high content imaging-based assays for drug screening. With a PhD in Biochemistry from Boston University School of Medicine, Erica has contributed to various publications and has also engaged in science education for students through non-profit initiatives.
