Mariela Arauz Torres

Mariela Arauz Torres has a strong background in environmental management and safety. Mariela currently holds the position of Head of Environment, Health, and Safety at Mercon Coffee Group since November 2020. Prior to that, they worked as an Environmental Manager at Momotombo Power Company from October 2018 to October 2020. Mariela also served as an Environmental Specialist at the Ministry of Energy and Mines from September 2010 to September 2018 and as an Environmental Supervisor at ENACAL from March 2009 to August 2010.

Mariela Arauz Torres has a strong educational background in environmental science and engineering. Mariela obtained a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering from Universidad Centroamericana, Managua, where they studied from 2003 to 2008. In 2011, they pursued an Advanced Training program in Environmental Science at United Nations University-Geothermal Training Programme. Continuing their academic journey, they completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Environment and Natural Resources from Háskóli Íslands in 2014.
