Michael McKean

Michael McKean has extensive experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly with the organization Mercy Corps. Michael has held various leadership roles within the organization from 2001 to the present, including Senior Director, Programmes, Funding, and Operations; Interim Executive Director; Director of Programmes; Senior Programme Development Manager; Director of Programmes; Senior Programme Officer; Programme Manager; and Programme Development Officer. In these positions, McKean has been responsible for managing and implementing programs, securing funding, developing partnerships, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. Michael has experience working in various regions, including Afghanistan, East Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and the Balkans. McKean has demonstrated expertise in generating revenue, developing innovative program models, and expanding funding opportunities.

Michael McKean attended the University of Glasgow from 1992 to 1996, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Zoology/Geography. Michael later pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Post-war Recovery Studies at the University of York from 1999 to 2000.
