Mara P. has a diverse range of work experience in the field of UX design and research. Mara is currently working as a Senior Web UX Designer at Datasite, starting in 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a UX Researcher & Designer as a freelancer, where they led research strategies and creative direction for various projects in responsive site design, UI design, and prototyping.
From 2018 to 2021, Mara worked at Lifetouch as a UX Designer and Lead UX Researcher. In this role, they led a brand project that generated over $100K in revenue and conducted persona projects across multiple business lines. Mara also synthesized and prioritized research testing opportunities on e-commerce pages.
Before joining Lifetouch, Mara was a User Experience Design Student at Prime Digital Academy in 2018. During this 18-week bootcamp, they led and conducted research activities, presented empathy-driven findings reports with recommendations and strategic roadmaps, and shared research findings with teams to identify overlapping touchpoints.
Mara's work experience also includes a role as a Career and Professional Development Coordinator - Research Lead at Mitchell Hamline School of Law from 2017 to 2018. Mara conducted surveys and research to identify insights for program recommendations and led department projects for national associations.
Prior to that, Mara worked at Target as a Report Builder, where they managed campaigns, optimized and constructed recommendation reports for Target vendors, and presented strategic findings to team leads. Mara also worked as a Media Strategist and Media Analyst at McCann Minneapolis, where they planned and organized media sessions, collaborated with buyers to optimize campaigns, and identified consumer trends for various brands.
Mara's earlier work experience includes roles at The American Swedish Institute as a Visitor Services Associate and Market Retail Assistant, where they executed journey mapping research, reported recommendations, and analyzed research for department projects. Mara also participated in a market research member program at L'Oreal (European Union Pilot Program) and worked as a Market and Sales Intern at Floors By Steve, where they conducted cost/benefit analyses, completed sales analysis, and worked with distributors.
Mara P. completed a certification in UX Design from Prime Digital Academy in 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Augsburg University between 2008 and 2011. Their major was International Business with a focus on marketing, management, and finance, and they also pursued a minor in Spanish.
