Alen Rakipovic

Alen Rakipovic is a highly experienced software engineer and technology leader currently serving as a member of XA Network, an investment network focused on fostering inclusive innovation in Southeast Asia, since August 2023. Alen has been with Meta since October 2022, leading software engineering teams to enhance the AR/VR shopping experience. Previously, Alen held the position of Director of Investor Research Applications at Capital Group, where a three-year strategic initiative was defined to apply modern technology and data across investment funds totaling $400 billion. Alen's career includes significant roles at Amazon, where leadership in software engineering contributed to the launch of the Amazon Translate service and scalability of AWS infrastructure. Early experiences include algorithm competition organization in Croatia and internships at Microsoft and IBM, alongside a strong academic background leading to a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Zagreb.
