Ji Liu

Ji Liu is a seasoned AI expert with extensive experience across prominent tech companies. Currently serving as a Principal AI Scientist at Meta since October 2022, Ji Liu previously held the position of Chief AI and Algorithm Scientist at Huawei, leading strategic AI initiatives and competitive planning. Prior experience includes heading the AI platform group at Kwai Inc. and directing the Seattle AI Lab, where Ji Liu was instrumental in developing cutting-edge GAN technologies and full-stack AI systems for gaming. Significant achievements also include leading the Seattle RL team at Tencent to innovate collaborative game AIs, notably contributing to the milestone victory over advanced built-in AIs in StarCraft II. Ji Liu’s academic foundation includes a Ph.D. in Machine Learning and Optimization from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, along with prior degrees from Arizona State University and the University of Science and Technology of China.
