JR McLaughlin has a strong technical background with experience in software engineering and team leadership across multiple companies. At athenahealth, as Lead Member of Technical Staff from June 2016 to September 2018, JR contributed to the development of a data ingestion and storage engine utilizing Java 8, Apache Spark Streaming, and Apache Kafka. Currently a Software Engineer at Meta since May 2021, JR is involved in Metaverse projects. Prior roles include Manager II at Nuance Communications, overseeing software engineering teams and ensuring project deliverables, and progressing from Associate to Senior Software Engineer during a four-year tenure where JR led significant Interactive Voice Response systems development. Early experience includes internships at Broadbus Technologies. JR holds an MS in Engineering Management and a BS in Computer Science from Tufts University, graduating Cum Laude.
