Energize Your Career: Are you ready to be at the forefront of the clean energy revolution?  MetOx International, Inc. is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in reshaping the future of power generation and distribution. 

 

Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the Senior Controls Engineer will design, implement, and maintain advanced control systems for manufacturing processes, ensuring equipment reliability and efficiency. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Senior Controls Engineer will create and maintain P&ID diagrams, PLC software, SCADA systems, and other electrical designs, while troubleshooting hardware and process issues to support manufacturing operations. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Designs and delivers control systems for manufacturing, including P&ID diagrams, PID loop control algorithms, PLC software, and SCADA systems. 
  • Develops HMI software, data collection systems, data communications, and architecture. 
  • Troubleshoots hardware and process issues. 
  • Partners with stakeholders to understand business needs and implements relevant changes and updates to control systems accordingly. 
  • Creates wiring and one-line diagrams, system-level architecture, and other electrical designs. 
  • Implements OPC UA data communication and historian databases. 
  • Maintains power calculations, system power design, UPS, safety checks, voltage designs, and general electrical and wiring diagrams. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, computer science or related field. 
  • 4 years of relevant experience. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in related field. 
  • Prior experiences focused on operational technology (OT) security, network configuration, and/or instrumentation engineering.  
  • Prior experience working with manufacturing start-ups. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

  • Proficiency in automation and control system platforms (e.g., Ignition, Beckhoff, Allen Bradley). 
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in controls engineering design. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.  
  • Skilled in project management, including managing stakeholder expectations and shifting priorities. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences. 
  • Ability to proactively identify and communicate risks and timelines to senior management. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
