Jimena Davis has a diverse work experience in the field of computational biology and mathematical statistics. Jimena began their career as a Student Intern at Sandia National Laboratories in 2006, where they investigated computational approaches for estimating rate parameters in biological systems. From 2003 to 2008, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at North Carolina State University, focusing on efficient methods for estimating probability distributions and collaborating on projects related to bio-toxic attacks. In 2008, they joined the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a Mathematical Statistician, where they researched Bayesian analysis techniques and improved priors for pharmacokinetic parameters. In 2012, they moved to Syngenta, taking on roles such as Sr. Computational Biologist, Team Lead, and Group Leader, focusing on biology modeling and pathway modeling. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Scientist I at Metrum Research Group.
Jimena Davis obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences from Clemson University. Jimena attended Clemson University from 1999 to 2003. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at North Carolina State University. From 2003 to 2008, Jimena Davis completed their Master of Science and PhD degrees in Computational and Applied Mathematics at North Carolina State University.
