Mariana Martinez

Mariana is the current Chief Operating Officer of Mi Familia Vota.

Previously, Mariana joined the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) in June of 2021 as the new Director of Strategic Initiatives where she works with the CEO launching and leading special initiatives and projects, managing strategic partnerships and liaising with the Board of Directors and Advisory Council.

Mariana has dedicated over a decade to leading nonprofits and creating change. Most recently, Mariana worked for the Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA) as Director of Civic Engagement Initiatives where she led statewide initiatives educating nonprofits on how their communities can have a voice in creating more equitable and representative communities; and as Chief of Staff for Detroit City Council Member Raquel Castañeda-López where she worked to advance community advocacy and inclusive policy. In that role, Mariana directed the Immigration Task Force (ITF), an initiative that advanced welcoming policies and highlighted Detroit as a welcoming, inclusive and global city. Thanks to the work of the ITF, Detroit ranked the 8th most welcoming city in the U.S. in 2020 by the New American Economy.
