Cristina Alcalde

Cristina Alcalde is the Vice President for Institutional Diversity and Inclusion at Miami University. Cristina has held this position since July 2021. Prior to that, they were the Associate Dean of Inclusion and Internationalization at the University of Kentucky from January 2007 to July 2021. Cristina was also an assistant professor at Southwestern University from January 2004 to December 2007.

Cristina has a passion for diversity and inclusion and has worked hard to make sure that everyone feels welcome and included in the Miami University community. Cristina is an advocate for students, staff, and faculty of all backgrounds and strives to create an inclusive environment where everyone can succeed.

Cristina Alcalde has a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies and a Doctor of Philosophy in Anthropology from Indiana University Bloomington.
