Marcy Coburn

Head of Curation and Programming at Michigan Central

Marcy Coburn has a strong background in curation, programming, placemaking, marketing, and creative services. Marcy has recently served as the Head of Curation and Programming at Michigan Central, where they currently work. Prior to that, Marcy worked at Brookfield Properties as the Senior Director of Placemaking, Marketing & Creative Services. Marcy was responsible for the Pier 70 Development project in San Francisco's Dogpatch neighborhood, overseeing the construction, restoration, and repurposing of commercial buildings, open-air parks, and retail spaces. Before that, Marcy was the Chief Executive Officer at Foodwise, where they curated the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market and collaborated with various organizations to create memorable experiences. Marcy also has experience as the Founding Executive Director of the Food Craft Institute, organizing the Bay Area Eat Real Festival and providing support for food startups. Marcy's earlier work includes their role as the Director of Communications at the EcoFarm, where they focused on strategic communications, media relations, and event production.

Marcy Coburn has a diverse and extensive education history. Marcy attended the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, where they studied High-Impact Leadership. Marcy also earned a Bachelor of Applied Science - BASc degree with Highest Honors in Agricultural Communication from The University of Georgia. Marcy furthered their education at Pace University, focusing on Legal Negotiation. Marcy expanded their knowledge and skills in Leading Complex Projects through their studies at IDEO Global Design & Innovation. Additionally, they gained expertise in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion at Paradigm Strategy Inc. Marcy also participated in The CEO Board's C-Level Development Master Class to enhance their leadership abilities. Lastly, they studied Embodied Leadership & Women's SOEL at the Strozzi Institute.
