Donald Winn

Donald Winn has been the Chief Financial Officer at Michigan Dental Association since June 2019. Prior to that, they were the Vice President - Global Head of Internal Controls at Yazaki Corporation from February 2017 to June 2019, where they led asset control for fixed assets, inventory, and accounts receivable across 250 factories in South America, Europe, and Asia. Donald addressed deficiencies at the factory controller level and build alignment with factory management; significantly improved fixed asset and inventory accuracy globally; uncovered factory-level fraud and reduced cost of goods sold up to 2 percentage points.

Before their time at Yazaki Corporation, Donald Winn was the Vice President - Finance, Planning, and Costing at Yazaki North America from September 1993 to February 2017. Donald was a senior finance executive reporting to the CEO of Yazaki North America managing accounting and corporate-level finance functions in the U.S., costing function, factory-level finance, and controlling in North and Central America, overseeing a team of more than 200 for a $6 billion business. During their time there, they partnered with the CEO to analyze cost drivers and direct efforts to improve profitability from break-even to the corporate target of a 6% return on sales. Donald also implemented complex hedging and derivative strategies to mitigate financial risks related to fluctuation in currency and commodity markets. Furthermore, they implemented Kaizen system for continuous improvement in the finance function and led transition to a fully-integrated ERP, implementing SAP FICO and costing modules

Donald Winn completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting at the University of Detroit Mercy. Donald then received certification from the State of Michigan as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
