Wolfgang Bauer is a University Distinguished Professor and Associate Vice President for Administration at Michigan State University, where focus areas include energy efficiency, renewable power integration, sustainability, mobility, big data, computing, and administrative issues since September 1988. Previously, Wolfgang served as a Senior Consultant in the Office of the Executive Vice President and as Chairperson of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Michigan State University. Additionally, Wolfgang held the position of President at the MSU Foundation and was the Founding Director of the MSU Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research. Wolfgang's educational background includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from Caltech and a Ph.D. in Physics from Justus Liebig University Giessen.
