Salman Ghufran

VP, Development at Microchip Technology

Salman Ghufran is the Vice President of Development at Microchip Technology. Salman has over 25 years of experience in product development and management, with a focus on storage controllers.

Ghufran began their career as a Product Development Engineer at IDACOM Electronics Ltd in 1987. Salman then moved to Austec Electronic Systems Ltd in 1990, where they worked as a Senior Engineer. In 1993, they joined PMC-Sierra Inc. as Director of Product Development for the Microprocessor Products Division.

In 2006, Ghufran was promoted to Vice President of Product Development for the Enterprise Storage Division at PMC-Sierra. In this role, they were responsible for hardware and firmware engineering for storage controllers, product architecture, and program management. Salman oversaw a team of 100+ members across three sites and managed products that accounted for 50% of the company’s revenue. Ghufran also served as the primary technical interface to strategic customers.

In 2018, Ghufran joined Microchip Technology as VP of Development.

Salman Ghufran reports to Steve Sanghi, Chairman & CEO. They are on a team with Edward Han - VP, Asia Client Engagement, Ganesh Moorthy - President & COO, and Joseph R. Krawczyk - SVP, Worldwide Client Engagement.
