Dorthe Groth Petersen is a highly experienced biologist currently employed at Miljøstyrelsen since December 2021. Previously held the position of Senior Specialist at NIRAS from August 2015 to December 2021, focusing on ecotoxicological assessments of hazardous substances in sediments and water, as well as water quality evaluations. Served as Associate Professor at Erhvervsakademi Aarhus from August 2013 to August 2015, instructing both Danish and international students in microbiology, ecotoxicology, and marine ecology, while also providing guidance to colleagues in their pedagogical development. Undertook postdoctoral research at Aarhus Universitet and UC Berkeley, working on microbial cell isolation and ecological factors influencing microbial communities. Completed a Ph.D. in Marine Ecology at the University of Gothenburg, where research concentrated on the effects of toxicants in complex ecosystems. Academic qualifications include an M.Sc. in Biology from Aarhus University and a strong proficiency in various statistical and analytical software tools.
