Borut Cizman

Vice President of Clinical Development at Mineralys Therapeutics

Borut Cizman has a diverse work experience, starting in 1999 as the Director of the Dialysis Unit at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. From there, they went on to work as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in Nephrology. In 2006, they joined Baxter Healthcare as a Medical Director and stayed with the company until 2013. In 2013, Borut became a Senior Medical Director at GlaxoSmithKline, and in 2016, they took on the role of Lead Nephrologist in the ASCEND program at GSK. From 2014 to 2017, Borut worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Then, in 2021, they became the Executive Medical Director at Inozyme Pharma. Currently, Borut holds the position of Vice President of Clinical Development at Mineralys Therapeutics, Inc.

Borut Cizman began their education in 1973 at the University of Ljubljana, where they pursued a degree in Medicine. Borut successfully completed their MD program in 1979 after six years of study. After a significant gap in their educational pursuits, Borut Cizman enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania in 1996 for a Fellowship in Nephrology. This phase of their education was completed in 1998.
