Irene Plugge

Irene Plugge has extensive experience in international relations and human resource management, currently serving as Change Manager HR at the Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken since May 2022. Previously, Irene held multiple roles at the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Manager at the Consular Affairs and Visa Policy Department and Personnel and Management Advisor, spanning over thirteen years. Prior to that, Irene was a Policy Officer at the European Commission focused on Policy Coherence for Development and performed various positions as a Policy Officer with the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including roles related to peacebuilding, governance, and serving as First Secretary at the embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. Irene's career began at the United Nations, where contributions were made as a Policy Advisor in several traditional and operational postings. Irene holds degrees from Leiden University, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, and Erasmus College.
