Denise Windenburg

Research Director, Operations and Effectiveness at Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation

Denise Windenburg has extensive work experience in the field of research and clinical research management. Denise is currently serving as the Research Director of Operations and Effectiveness at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation since June 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Research Director at the University of Minnesota Medical School from January 2016 to May 2022.

Denise also has a strong background in leadership and governance roles. Denise served as a Board Member and Treasurer at both the MN Chapter of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals and RECLAIM! In addition, they held the position of President at the MN Chapter of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals from 2009 to 2011.

Previously, Denise held the role of Program Director of the Lillehei Clinical Research Unit at the University of Minnesota from August 2010 to January 2016.

Denise'scareer began at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation in 1994, where they worked as the Section Manager and Program Coordinator for Women's Heart Health until August 2010.

Denise Windenburg has a Masters of Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree in Public Health from the University of Minnesota. Denise also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Organization Management/Communications from Concordia University-St. Paul. In addition to their degrees, Denise has obtained certification as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.
