C.J. Carroll Ross has extensive work experience in law enforcement training and education. They have held various roles in different organizations throughout their career. From 1994 to 1997, Ross worked as a Police Sergeant at the US Park Police, where they supervised officers and park rangers. They also served as a Horse Mounted Patrol Officer during this time. In 1997, Ross became a Training Sergeant at the US Park Police Training Academy, where they conducted recruit training and taught various law enforcement skills.

Ross continued their career at the National Park Service as a Physical Techniques Instructor from 1998 to 2000. In this role, they taught arrest techniques, defensive tactics, and physical conditioning. They then joined the Bureau of Land Management as a State Staff Ranger, managing the law enforcement ranger program in Nevada.

From 2002 to 2005, Ross worked at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers as a Senior Instructor in the Enforcement Operations Division and a Driving & Marine Division Senior Instructor. They taught courses on surveillance, use of force, operational planning, and traffic stops.

Ross then joined the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as a Supervisory Law Enforcement Officer, managing all law enforcement training for the National Wildlife Refuge System. They also worked at the College of Coastal Georgia as an Adjunct Professor, teaching courses on community policing, criminal investigation, and report writing.

From 2010 to 2018, Ross served as a Law Enforcement Program Manager at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers, where they managed law enforcement training accreditation and taught various courses on leadership, emotional intelligence, and behavioral analysis.

In 2018, Ross became the Park Ranger Law Enforcement Academy Director & MN Professional Peace Officer Education Coordinator at Minnesota North College, overseeing the park ranger law enforcement academy and teaching various skills. They are currently working as an Adjunct Faculty at Colorado Northwestern Community College.

C.J. Carroll Ross's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Law Enforcement from the University of Maryland, a Master's of Science Degree (MS) in Education from Troy University, a Certificate in Problem Based Learning Instructor from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, an Outdoor Educators Course from the National Outdoor Leadership School, a certificate in Law Enforcement from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Law Enforcement from Anne Arundel Community College, and a California Police Officer Certification PC 832 from the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.
