Andriel Dees

Vice Chancellor for Equity & Inclusion at Minnesota State Colleges & Universities

Andriel Dees is currently the Vice Chancellor for Equity and Inclusion at Minnesota State Colleges & Universities. Prior to this, they served as the Director, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at Capella University from January 2014 to August 2018. In this role, they led the organization strategically and operationally in implementing the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion framework focused on student success within the Division of Academic Affairs. Additionally, their office served as a hub of technical expertise for diversity and inclusion throughout the institution.

From July 2010 to January 2014, Dees served as the Chief Diversity Officer at University of Wisconsin-River Falls. In this role, they were responsible for leading the development and implementation of UW-River Falls’ diversity strategic plan, as well as coordinating all diversity initiatives across campus.

Dees began their career in higher education as the Associate Dean for Multicultural Affairs at William Mitchell College of Law from January 2005 to July 2010. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing programs and initiatives to support a diverse student body.

After completing their high school diploma at Andrean High School, Andriel Dees pursued a BA in English at Hampton University. Andriel then went on to earn their Juris Doctorate at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.

Andriel Dees works with Terry Gaalswyk - President, Minnesota West Community and Technical College, Kumara Jayasuriya - President, Southwest Minnesota State University, and Joe Mulford - President, Pine Technical & Community College. Their manager is Devinder Malhotra, Chancellor.
