Ilona Bauda

Ilona Bauda has an extensive work experience in the legal field and government sector. Ilona is currently working as a Senior Legal Counsel at Mintos, where they provide legal advice and assists with deal structuring and transaction document drafting and negotiation. Ilona conducts legal due diligence in various jurisdictions and participates in direct negotiations with lending companies.

Prior to their current position, Ilona worked as an Attorney at Law, representing clients in various areas such as Mergers & Acquisitions, Commercial Law, and Litigation. Ilona has also worked as an Associate Attorney at Law at Loze & Partners and Attorneys at Law Red (Now Primus Derling).

Ilona has a background in government work as well, having worked at the Ministry of Finance of Latvia as the Deputy Head of the Division of Tax Treaties and later as a Senior Officer in the same division. In these roles, they drafted tax treaties, participated in negotiations, and represented Latvia at international meetings and committees.

Additionally, Ilona has held positions at the National Broadcasting Council, SIA PPD Sales & Marketing Services, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, where they gained experience in international relations, project management, and junior officer duties.

Ilona Bauda has a diverse education history spanning several institutions and fields of study. Ilona began their academic journey in 1996 at the University of Latvia, Faculty of History and Philosophy, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and International Relations. Ilona successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2000.

Seeking further specialization in the legal field, Bauda enrolled at the University of Latvia, Faculty of Law in 2001. Over the course of five years, they diligently studied and obtained a Professional degree in Law, which qualified their as a lawyer. This solid foundation in law laid the groundwork for their future endeavors.

In 2006, Bauda pursued postgraduate studies at the Riga Graduate School of Law. Ilona completed a Master of Laws degree with a focus on International and European Union Law in 2007. This advanced degree provided their with specialized knowledge in these areas and further expanded their expertise in the legal domain.

Throughout their education, Bauda displayed a clear commitment to academic excellence and a drive to further develop their skills and knowledge in various aspects of law, politics, and international relations. The culmination of their educational journey equipped their with a well-rounded education in law and a comprehensive understanding of the legal frameworks both within Latvia and at the European Union level.
