Faisa Omar

Senior Research Scientist at Mironid

Faisa Omar has worked in the research and drug discovery field since 2012. Faisa began as an Assistant Research Scientist at the University of Glasgow, College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, where they worked on a project to develop therapies for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia. In 2012, they also began working as an Assistant Research Scientist at the University of Strathclyde on a Proof-of-Concept project to develop therapies for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. In 2015, they joined SB Drug Discovery as a Research Scientist, and in 2016, they became a Senior Research Scientist at Mironid Limited, where they worked on developing novel therapies for the treatment of kidney diseases, inflammation, and cancer based upon targeting cAMP degrading PDE4 phosphodiesterases.

Faisa Omar obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science (Pharmacology) from the University of Aberdeen between 2005 and 2009. Faisa then went on to complete a Master of Science in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience at the University of Sussex between 2010 and 2011.
