Parendi Birdie

Parendi Birdie is the current Head of Strategic Partnerships at Mission Barns. Parendi has a long and accomplished history in biochemical and cellular research, having worked as a Cellular Agriculture Research Associate at JUST from September 2017 to March 2019, where they conducted assays to reveal mechanistic data for development of potential cancer therapies. Prior to that, Parendi was a Molecular Biology Student Researcher at Baylor College of Medicine from October 2016 to January 2017. In this role they estimated protein concentration, ran SDS-PAGE gels, and conducted western blots using LI-COR imager. Parendi's first internship was in the Strain Engineering Department at Clara Foods, where they worked from June 2016 to August 2016. In this role, they were responsible for culturing adherent and suspension gastrointestinal cells and treating with various concentrations of kinase inhibitor drugs to understand dosing and combination effects.

Parendi Birdie studied biochemistry with distinction at the University of Kansas. They graduated with a bachelor's degree from the Department of Molecular Biosciences.
