Sam Makani

Sam Makani has a strong background in the hospitality industry, with most recent experience as the Vice President of Strategic Operations at Mission Hill Hospitality. In this role, Sam oversees asset management for 33 hotels across 14 states and 16 brands. Prior to this, Sam served as the Vice President of Asset Management at Driftwood Capital from 2020 to 2022. Sam also held various positions at Solid Rock Group, Ashford Hospitality Trust, G6 Hospitality LLC, and Five Star Hotel Group, gaining expertise in portfolio strategy, reporting, financial analysis, and real estate development.

Sam Makani has a Bachelor's Degree from Baylor University, with a focus on the Honors Program. They also have a Master's Degree in Hospitality Administration/Management from Florida International University. Additionally, Sam has a Certificate in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management from Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, as well as an Executive Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Florida Atlantic University. Sam has obtained several additional certifications, including one from Travel Tech in 2021 and certifications in various areas such as human trafficking prevention, hotel industry analytics, and online platforms like Revinate and TripAdvisor. They have also completed a course on visualizing geospatial data with Power Map in Excel through LinkedIn.
