Dhilan Atapattu

Dhilan Atapattu has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Dhilan began their career as a Trainee Engineer at SriLankan Airlines Official in 2012. Dhilan then moved on to work as a Creative Designer at Moraspirit Initiative from January to December 2012, and later as the Head of Creative Development from January 2013 to January 2014. In 2014, Dhilan joined MillenniumIT as a Data Center Engineer and worked in that role until March 2017. Dhilan was then promoted to Lead - Data Engineering and held that position until September 2019. From September 2019 to August 2021, Dhilan served as a Senior Lead - Data Engineering at MillenniumIT. Dhilan then transitioned to the role of Associate Director - Data Science, which they held from September 2021 to March 2022. Currently, Dhilan is working as the Director - Data Science and IoT at MillenniumIT ESP, starting in April 2022. Throughout their career, Dhilan has demonstrated expertise in data engineering and data science roles, with a focus on leveraging data for actionable insights.

Dhilan Atapattu completed their Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Moratuwa between 2009 and 2013. After that, they pursued a diploma in Management Accountancy from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, which they completed in 2014. Prior to this, Dhilan attended St. Joseph's College from 1994 to 2007 where they obtained their GCE-Advanced Level with a focus on Mathematics. In 2017, they enrolled in the University of Colombo and graduated with a Master's degree in Computer Science in 2019.

Apart from their academic qualifications, Dhilan Atapattu holds additional certifications. Dhilan obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate certification from Microsoft in October 2023. Dhilan also holds the Cloudera Certified Administrator for Apache Hadoop (CCAH) certification, which they obtained in January 2016.
