Who Are We Looking For?

Mobiz seeks to add a Junior Azure Cloud Engineer to the team. The candidate should have a vision, a passion for consulting, and the desire to satisfy client requirements. Mobiz is looking for candidates with elementary expertise in Azure cloud management, administration, security, and networking, along with fundamental experience in Azure cloud services provisioning, migrations, and support. The job role can consist of helping customers migrate existing capabilities, as well as developing new capabilities in Azure.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Deployment and Management: Assist in deploying, configuring, and managing Azure cloud resources, such as virtual machines, storage accounts, networking components, and other infrastructure elements.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Help monitor the performance and health of Azure services and applications. Participate in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to infrastructure, connectivity, and services.
• Security and Compliance: Follow security best practices and assist in implementing security measures to protect Azure resources and data. Stay up-to-date with Azure compliance and governance requirements.
• Automation and Scripting: Learn and use automation tools (e.g., Azure PowerShell, Azure CLI) to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Resource Optimization and Cost Management: Work on optimizing Azure resources for cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Identify areas where resources can be optimized or rightsized to save costs.
• Backup and Disaster Recovery: Support the implementation and testing of backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data protection and business continuity.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other team members, developers, and stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide Azure-related solutions. Communicate effectively to share updates, progress, and challenges.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation related to Azure resources, configurations, and procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing.
• Learning and Development: Stay current with the latest Azure updates, services, and industry trends. Continuously improve your knowledge and skills through training and certifications.
• Support and Incident Response: Assist in providing technical support and responding to incidents related to Azure services and infrastructure, ensuring timely resolution.
• DevOps Integration: Participate in integrating Azure services into DevOps pipelines, enabling continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
• Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and work towards improving the performance of Azure-hosted applications and services.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science/related field or commensurate body of previous work.
• 1+ years’ experience and professional Azure certifications.

Skills

• Azure Fundamentals: Familiarity with the core concepts of Microsoft Azure, including understanding Azure regions, resource groups, and basic services like virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking components.
• Cloud Computing Concepts: Knowledge of cloud computing principles, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).
• Virtual Machines (VMs): Basic understanding of creating, configuring, and managing virtual machines in Azure, including VM sizes, images, and networking.
• Networking in Azure: Familiarity with Azure Virtual Networks, subnets, IP addressing, and basic network security groups.
• Azure Storage: Basic knowledge of Azure storage services like Azure Blob Storage, Azure Files, and Azure Disk Storage.
• Azure Identity and Access Management (IAM): Understanding of Azure AD, user management, and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Azure App Services: Introduction to Azure App Services and the deployment of web applications.
• Azure Database Services: Basic awareness of Azure database services like Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, or MySQL.
• Azure Resource Manager (ARM) Templates: Familiarity with ARM templates for infrastructure deployment and automation.
• Monitoring and Logging: Basic understanding of monitoring and logging services in Azure, such as Azure Monitor and Azure Log Analytics.
• Security Best Practices: Awareness of Azure security principles and practices, including network security, encryption, and data protection.
• Scripting and Automation: Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell or Azure CLI) to perform repetitive tasks and automate simple processes.
• Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve basic issues in Azure deployments and services.
• Documentation: Proficiency in creating and maintaining technical documentation for Azure configurations and procedures.
• Learning Attitude: Willingness to continuously learn and keep up with the evolving Azure ecosystem.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication and collaboration within a team environment.

This is an on-site job in Karachi, Pakistan and work hours will be afternoon/evening to night.
