Ishara Azmi

Principal Scientist at Moderna Therapeutics

Ishara Azmi is a Principal Scientist at Moderna since April 2022, with prior experience as Principal Scientist at Sherlock Biosciences and as a Scientist at CRISPR Therapeutics. Between 2016 and 2018, Ishara served as a Research Scientist at Howard Hughes Medical Institute and also taught an advanced undergraduate seminar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Ishara completed a postdoctoral fellowship at MIT under the guidance of Professor Steve Bell from 2010 to 2015. Education includes a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, a Professional Certificate in Data Science and Big Data Analytics from MIT, and a BS in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Winona State University.
