Joanne M. O'Hara

Joanne M. O'Hara is a Senior Scientist in Infectious Diseases at Moderna since September 2020, bringing extensive experience from previous roles, including Research Fellow in Infectious Diseases at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School from December 2013 to August 2020. During this time, Joanne led a significant project focused on vaccine-induced pneumococcal nasal T cell responses, resulting in NIH grant submission and a publication in a high-impact journal. Prior experience includes positions as a Research Affiliate at the Wadsworth Center, Biomedical Science Graduate Student at the University at Albany, and various roles in infectious disease product development and biochemistry at Trinity Biotech. Joanne holds a PhD and an M.S. in Biomedical Science from the University at Albany, and a B.Sc. in Biology and Chemistry from Maynooth University.
