Umair Malik

Umair Malik has over 13 years of work experience in the DevOps field. Umair began their career in 2007 as IT Manager at UKCCTV Ltd, where they developed and maintained an ecommerce system and managed the company's IT infrastructure. Umair then moved on to LibertyLABz in 2008 as Lead Developer / Software Consultant. From 2010 to 2013, they worked at Kno, Inc. (acquired by Intel) as Senior Software Engineer, where they worked with Kno System and Ubuntu based tablet management and development. From 2013 to 2015, they were at Citrix as Senior Software Engineer (DevOps), where they built provisioning and configuration of Mobile Device Management solution in the cloud. From 2015 to 2021, they worked at Vocera Communications as Engineering Manager (Devops/DevSecOps,SRE, Release Engineering) and Staff Software Engineer (DevOps/SRE). Most recently, they have been at Palm NFT Studio since 2021 as Director Of Engineering (Devops). Currently, they are at Mojio as Head of DevOps.

Umair Malik obtained a Master's degree in HCI from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences in 2008. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences from the Virtual University of Pakistan between 2002 and 2006. Umair also has two additional certifications, one in Svelte.js - The Complete Guide from Udemy obtained in February 2021, and another in DevOps Culture and Mindset from Coursera obtained in August 2021.
