Apurva Patel

Apurva Patel has worked in various engineering roles since 2009. Apurva started as a Junior Specialist and Graduate Student Researcher at the Biomolecular Microsystems and Nano Transducers Lab, where they researched neural stem cell chemotaxis for treatment of lysosome storage diseases and designed and fabricated MEMS devices. From 2014 to 2017, they worked as a Validation Engineer for ValSource, LLC, where they consulted at Genentech, Merck and Baxalta to ensure cGMP compliance and instructed cross functional teams to successfully perform equipment and process validation. From 2017 to 2018, they were a Test Engineer at Illumina, where they planned and performed gage R&R studies, investigated failure modes, and conducted root cause analysis related to fluidics, gene sequencing protocols and test control software. Currently, they are a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Tandem Diabetes Care. In 2022, they will become a Staff Engineer at Molecular Assemblies, Inc.

Apurva Patel attended UC Irvine from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. Apurva then returned to UC Irvine from 2011 to 2013 to complete their Masters of Science in Biomedical Engineering.
