Salman Baset

Salman Baset is a seasoned professional in product management and security, currently serving as the Director of Product Management Security and Compliance at MongoDB since 2019. In this role, Salman sets the product strategy and roadmap focused on security, privacy, and compliance. Previously, Salman worked at IBM from 2010 to 2019 as the CTO of Security for IBM Blockchain Solutions, where responsibilities included managing security and compliance for Tradelens. Salman's extensive experience also encompasses leadership positions, such as Chair of the Cloud Subcommittee for the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation, and founding roles, including Vazool, a real-time interest-based connection platform. Educational qualifications include a PhD and M.S. in Computer Science from Columbia University, along with a B.S. in Computer System Engineering from GIK Institute.
