Chet Braud, CSP, OHST

Chet Braud has extensive work experience starting as a teacher and coach at Ascension Catholic High School from 1995 to 1998. Chet then worked as an Administrative Specialist for the Louisiana Air National Guard for 12 years, from 1989 to 2001. Braud started working for Occidental Chemical Corporation as a Process Technician in 2001 until 2010, then as a Safety Engineer for Houston Operations' Safety Management Systems for seven months before being assigned as a WISER Facilitator (BBS Process). From 2012 to 2015, they resumed their role as a Safety Engineer for the company, where they championed Planned Inspection, Job Observation, Key Procedure Audit programs, and assisted with Continuous Improvement efforts for OSHA Star status. Braud then served as a Sr. Safety Specialist from September 2018 to October 2020, and as a Safety & Health Manager from October 2020 to June 2023 at Ascend Performance Materials. Their recent experience includes working as a Safety & Health Senior Manager at Monolith, starting in June 2023. Throughout their career, Braud has demonstrated their expertise in safety management and has been certified as a trainer and coach for various programs and processes, including Hazard Recognition Plus (HRP) and Fall Protection Competent Person. Additionally, they have contributed to various A2E (Six-sigma) process/program teams, such as the Root Cause Analysis Incident Investigation Improvement Team and Life Critical Training "Hands-on" Team.

Chet Braud, CSP, OHST, received their BA in Political Science and Speech Communications from Louisiana State University in 1994. Chet attended East Ascension High School and graduated in 1989. Chet furthered their education by earning a master's degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University between 2008 and 2010. In 2007 and 2008, they took Occupational Safety and Health courses at Southeastern Louisiana University. Chet Braud also earned multiple certifications from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals including Certified Safety Professional, Associate Safety Professional (ASP), and Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST).
