Gretchen Swanz Herault

Gretchen Swanz Herault, CIPP, CIPM has extensive work experience in the field of privacy and compliance. Gretchen is currently serving as the Chief Privacy Officer at Randstad USA and Monster since June 2021. Prior to that, they founded and worked as the Principal at vCPO LLC starting August 2020. From October 2019 to July 2020, they were the Privacy Officer at Haven.

Gretchen has also worked at GE Healthcare, where they held multiple roles including Senior Privacy Counsel, USCAN Privacy Leader, HIPAA Privacy Officer from February 2017 to October 2019, and Senior Privacy Counsel from September 2016 to February 2017.

Earlier in their career, they served as the Chief Privacy Officer at Nuance Communications from October 2015 to September 2016, and Deputy Chief Privacy Officer from March 2014 to October 2015.

Gretchen also worked at Monster, where they held senior positions such as Vice President, Compliance and Fraud Prevention and Deputy Chief Privacy Officer from April 2011 to March 2014, Vice President and Counsel, Global Privacy from January 2010 to April 2011, and Senior Director and Counsel, Global Privacy from January 2008 to January 2010.

Prior to that, they served as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Graduate Leverage from November 2006 to December 2007, and as a Senior Compliance Advisor at Integrity Interactive from November 2004 to September 2006.

Gretchen began their career at Manulife Financial/John Hancock, where they worked as an Assistant Vice President from February 1999 to November 2004.

Gretchen Swanz Herault, CIPP, CIPM obtained a Juris Doctor, cum laude degree in Law from Notre Dame Law School in the years 1990 to 1993. Gretchen also earned a B.A. degree in History from Williams College between 1986 and 1990. Prior to that, they received an H.S. Diploma from The American School in Japan from 1983 to 1986. Additionally, they hold a certification in CS50 for Lawyers from CS50 and has obtained the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) certifications from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in 2015.
