Zain Jafri

Zain Jafri is a data analyst who has worked with some of the world's most recognizable sports franchises. Zain currently works as a data analyst for the Basketball Strategy & Analytics team at Monumental Sports & Entertainment.

Jafri began their career in sports analytics with The Madison Square Garden Company in November 2015. Zain worked closely with front office and coaching staff to support and drive analytics-based projects covering a variety of basketball, health, and front office topics. Zain also maintained data within an SAP HANA Data Platform and worked with external consultants to integrate new data sources into the platform.

In September 2019, Jafri joined Monumental Sports & Entertainment as a data analyst on the Basketball Strategy & Analytics team. In this role, they create standardized reports and tools, supports one-time projects and analysis, and operates STATS SportVU cameras during home games.

Zain Jafri has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Sports Management and Business Analytics from The George Washington University. Zain also has two Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees in Computer Science and Biometric Systems from West Virginia University. In addition, they have certification from edX in Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python and Introduction to R. Zain also has certification from Coursera in The Data Scientist’s Toolbox and Computing for Data Analysis.
