Elizabeth Neumann

Elizabeth Neumann has held various roles throughout their career. From 2021, they have been working as the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at Moonshot, where they are responsible for strategic planning. Prior to that, they worked as a Contributor for National Security & Homeland Security at ABC News, starting in 2021. In 2020, Elizabeth founded and became the Managing Director of Neu Summit Strategies, focusing on understanding emerging security risks. Elizabeth also served as a Senior Advisor at the National Immigration Forum from 2020 to 2021.

Elizabeth has significant experience in the field of Homeland Security. Elizabeth served as the Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism and Threat Prevention at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security from 2018 to 2020, where they led a 70-member staff and directed programs and policies related to human trafficking, identity management, and countering threats. Elizabeth also served as the Deputy Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security from 2017 to 2018, where they coordinated operations across 25 agencies.

In addition to their government roles, Elizabeth has worked in the private sector. Elizabeth was the Managing Director at Sunesis Consulting from 2013 to 2017, where they focused on cyber security and risk assessments. Prior to that, they held leadership positions at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and Strategic Policy Partnership, where they advised on security strategy and homeland security.

Elizabeth began their career in the U.S. Government, working on faith-based and community initiatives in 2001 and serving in the White House as the Associate Director/Domestic CT Directorate and Executive Assistant to the Homeland Security Advisor from 2003 to 2006.

Elizabeth Neumann obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from The University of Texas at Austin. In addition, they have obtained a certification as an ASIS Member from ASIS International in January 2020.
