Rebeca Lopez-Garcia, Ph.D., CFS has extensive work experience in the field of food science and regulatory affairs. Rebeca is currently serving as the VP of Regulatory and Scientific Affairs at Mori since August 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Global Head of Regulatory Affairs at Mori from September 2020 to October 2022.

Before joining Mori, they were the owner of LOGRE INTERNATIONAL FOOD SCIENCE CONSULTING since February 2000. In this role, they gained over 20 years of experience as a consultant, working on food projects in more than 30 countries around the world. Their expertise spans various areas of food production and public health, including food safety, toxicology, regulatory affairs, risk management, and risk communication. Rebeca has successfully obtained regulatory approval for numerous food ingredients, novel foods, and food additives, with a particular focus on Mexico and Latin America.

Rebeca also has experience working as a Contributor at Editorial Énfasis from 2008 to 2010 and as a Consultant at Stratecon International from 2000 to 2010. Additionally, they were an International Product Manager at Tate & Lyle from 1998 to 2000.

Rebeca Lopez-Garcia, Ph.D., CFS, completed their doctoral degree in Food Science/Toxicology from Louisiana State University from 1995 to 1998. Following their Ph.D., they pursued a Certificate in International Food Laws from Michigan State University between 1999 and 2002. Prior to their doctoral studies, they obtained a Licenciatura degree in Quimica de Alimentos (Food Chemistry) from Universidad La Salle, A.C. from 1990 to 1994. Additionally, they hold the certifications of Certified Food Scientist (renewed) from the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) in April 2013 and Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) from ASQ - World Headquarters in December 2012.
