Jung Chen's work experience includes being a Data Scientist in Client Services at Morning Consult since April 2022. Prior to that, Jung worked at the University of California, Merced from August 2017 to December 2022. At the university, Jung held various roles including Doctoral Researcher, Instructor of Record, Teaching Fellow, and Teaching Assistant. As a Doctoral Researcher, Jung designed and conducted scientific studies on human behavior and political decision-making, implemented large-scale survey experiments and lab experiments, and analyzed observational data using quantitative methods. As an Instructor of Record, Jung taught a course on Political Behavior Around the World at the undergraduate level. As a Teaching Fellow and Teaching Assistant, Jung taught courses on Advanced Causal Inference at the Ph.D. level and Introductory Analysis of Political Data and Introduction to Comparative Politics at the undergraduate level. Additionally, Jung served as a Political Science Lab Manager, where they supervised and trained undergraduate research assistants, collaborated with faculty members on research and data work, and managed research studies conducted in the lab.
Jung Chen began their education in 2012 at National Cheng Kung University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science. They completed their bachelor's degrees in 2016.
In 2017, Jung Chen enrolled in the University of California, Merced, to further their studies. They obtained a Master of Arts (MA) in Political Science in 2020 and continued their academic journey by pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Science at the same university until 2023.
After completing their PhD, Jung Chen joined The University of Texas at Austin in 2022 to pursue a Master of Science (MS) in Data Science. This program is expected to conclude in 2024.
