Benjamin Downs

Benjamin Downs has over 17 years of experience in the IT industry. Benjamin started their career in 2005 as a Network/Systems Administrator for the United States Marine Corps, where they provided support for multiple deployments and established procedures and documentation for 3 and 6 week deployment schedules. In 2010, they began working at ESSMetron as a Network/Systems Administrator, where they were responsible for planning and implementing a conversion to a virtualized environment and upgrading the network devices and logical topology to support the introduction of VOIP services. In 2015, they joined Trace3 as a Delivery/Systems Engineer, delivering a wide range of technologies and focusing on NSX integration with BCP and DR planning. In 2017, they started working at Charter Communications as a Principal Engineer, tasked with creating standards to solve for long term virtualization, multi-tenancy, and on-prem/hybrid cloud needs. Currently, they are employed at Morpheus Data as a Senior Sales Engineer.

Benjamin Downs began their educational journey at Barker Central School from 1988 to 2001. Benjamin then attended the University at Buffalo from 2001 to 2005, where they studied Graphic Design and Business Management. In 2010 and 2011, they attended Arapahoe Community College and studied Computer Network Management. In 2005, they also attended the Navy Supply Corps School, where they studied Business Administration and Graphic Design. In addition to these educational experiences, Benjamin Downs has obtained several certifications, such as a VMware Cloud on AWS - Trained Professional (2021), VMware Certified Professional- Network Virtualization (2015), VMware Certified Associate - Data Center Virtualization (2014), Cisco Certified Network Associate (2014), Certified SAFe® 5 Practitioner (2021), and several Nutanix certifications.
