Jessica Matthis has over 10 years of work experience in the medical writing field. Their most recent position is as an Associate Director of Medical Writing at MorphoSys, a role they have held since January 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Medical Writer on a contract basis at Takeda from September 2019 to January 2021, where they provided writing and editing services for various clinical and regulatory documents. Before that, they were a Senior Medical Writer at AMAG Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from September 2018 to September 2019, where they provided writing and editing services for a range of clinical and regulatory documents and also created medical writing guidance documents. From June 2017 to July 2018, they worked as a Senior Medical Writer at Global Medical Writing & Translation, focusing on writing and editing clinical documents. Jessica also has experience as a Medical Writer at Kateric LLC from November 2013 to June 2017, where they translated clinical study endpoints into outcome measures for clinical trial disclosures. Jessica Matthis began their education at Shoreline Community College in 1998 and earned their Associate's degree. Jessica then transferred to Seattle University where they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 2002. After completing their undergraduate studies, Jessica took a break from formal education before enrolling at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific from 2006 to 2008. During this time, they pursued non-matriculated studies in the field of Medicine. Finally, in 2010, Jessica attended Northeastern University and completed their Master of Science degree in Technical Communication in 2011.
