John Eric Franklin's work experience begins in 2014 as an Engineering Teaching Assistant at the University of Virginia, where they mentored students and graded assignments. In 2015, they became a Non-Destructive Evaluation Engineering intern at Babcock & Wilcox, implementing new production technology. Following that, in 2016, they worked as an Engineering Root Cause Failure Analysis intern at GE, analyzing hardware failures and developing solutions. In 2017, they joined GE Aviation as a Mechanical Engineer, designing engine components and presenting work at design reviews. John Eric also participated in the Edison Engineering Development Program, fulfilling roles as a Mechanical Design Engineer and Performance and Cycles Preliminary Design Engineer. In 2021, they transitioned to a Hardware Design Engineer role at Amazon Robotics. Then, in 2023, they joined MORSE Corp as a Mechanical Engineer.

John Eric Franklin attended the University of Virginia from 2013 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Engineering Business. In 2018, they attended GE Crotonville, where they completed a program called Activating your Leadership Journey (ALJ). In 2019, they enrolled at The Ohio State University and obtained a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2020. John Eric also holds certifications in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from GE Aviation, which they obtained in January 2020, and as a Certified Solidworks Associate, which they obtained in 2016.
