Position Overview

The Grid Operations Advisor supports Mosaic’s Grid Operations clients and collaborates with industry experts to serve as a trusted partner. The Grid Operations Advisor provides guidance and delivers transformative business and process solutions. The role will provide advanced consulting services including, but not limited to, role and task analysis, industry and technical expertise, and high-level process improvement strategies.

Roles and Responsibilities

To respond to client and project needs effectively, roles and responsibilities can vary and may include additional responsibilities not listed.

Analysis:

  • Assess current roles, job tasks, processes and procedures, and organizational structure.

  • Partner with client stakeholders to evaluate and prioritize business challenges.

  • Identify opportunities to align the client organization with business goals.

  • Develop solutions to address business challenges and improve operational efficiencies.

  • Coordinate hand-off of analysis results and recommendations to ensure additional client success, including training strategy, change management opportunities, and technical deployment, etc.

Business Process:

  • Document and analyze current state business processes and workflows and provide tactical and strategic recommendations to align with project goals and targets key performance indicators (KPI).

  • Perform analysis and provide recommendations with a balanced regard for technology, people, and process considerations.

  • Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and key business owners to coordinate process improvement activities.

  • Facilitate meetings and communicate best practices with the client.

  • Design clear and detailed future state business processes and workflows.

Directional Solutions and Recommendations:

  • Incorporate analysis results in directional best practice recommendations, including process and procedural improvements, as well as role-based frameworks and strategies.

  • Provide relevant, accurate, concise deliverables aligned with project and business objectives and priorities.

  • Recommend and support delivery of client solutions, including creating and delivering communication plans and presentations.

Internal Development:

  • Support Mosaic’s Grid Operations and Grid Modernization teams and Senior Grid Operation Advisors with the following:
    • Establish client deliverables and content artifact structure to support cross-team expertise with knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and continual internal process improvement.

    • Assist with business development by defining, estimating, and recommending business process solutions.

    • Adhere to project parameters, including scope, assumptions, and project plans to achieve exceptional client results.

Leadership and Coaching:

  • Evaluate deliverables for relevance, accuracy, clarity, and concision and ensure they align with project and business objectives.

  • Lead project team members to perform the above responsibilities and to meet project and business objectives.

  • Onboard and coach new project team members.

  • Set standards and expectations for team performance.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to extensively analyze business processes and workflows, as well as deliver analysis results and associated process and procedural improvement recommendations.

  • Industry and technical expertise to support specialized client activities, such as business process analysis, process mapping, requirements development, and advisory services.

  • Understanding and experience in electric operations, enterprise-level software applications, and/or Grid Operations system implementations, such as ADMS and EMS.

  • A proven self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, complex, and ambiguous work environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Ability to make timely, informed decisions that consider data, goals, constraints, and risks.

  • Detail-oriented with strong planning skills and consistent follow-through.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills with an ability to lead and influence teams and clients at all levels of an organization.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to facilitate interviews, focus groups, and workshops, and to articulate solutions,

  • Advanced skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, SharePoint, and SnagIt.

  • External: Develops trustworthy relationships with client and project stakeholders. Works independently in and navigates effectively through ambiguous and political client environments.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
